A Year of Progress

Thank you for inviting us to study the "shorter writings" from Prose Works.  (The green book sits on my kitchen table.)   Never before have I read consistently through the shorter writings and there is so much to learn from them.

In Christian Healing (p10)  Mrs Eddy says: "God is All, and in all;  that finishes the question of a good and a bad side to existence."    A recent Daily Lift, entitled "The power of One" stated that "our God is infinite good, the power of One at work in our lives."   I have been learning recently that the concept of 'oneness' and 'allness' precludes any sense of error - whatever it may try to make us believe.   This gets away from any sense of confrontation or argument and enables us 'to be still and know that I am God.'

At one time I used to worry and look everywhere if something was missing, but I have realised that I can immediately say that everything is in its right place,  and that I can do all that I need to do without hindrance.   There have been no major incidents, but several small things have worked out harmoniously.   I am grateful because it is correcting thought immediately error tries to suggest something, and this the way forward.

This year our church has acquired new premises, and on Easter Sunday we moved into our new Sunday School, which meets the needs of Sunday School pupils and those who use the Creche.  We rejoice in our 'rainbow theme.'  I was invited to teach the 5-6 year-olds, and found it quite a challenge - but as I worked on the idea it became an opportunity instead of a challenge.   I am now enjoying the adventures we have on a Sunday morning.

When I stayed at Charton Manor for a few weeks in the autumn of 2008, I appreciated having the Bible Lesson read each morning and I realised that many readers travelled to Charton Manor to make this possible.   I asked one of our church members if she would be willing to read once a month, and we have been going to Charton Manor together for nearly a year now.  In addition two other members of our church have also volunteered.

As we go on our way rejoicing in the teachings of Christian Science we find new opportunities, new ideas and new friends coming into our experience.
