"Precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little and there a little." Isaiah 28:10
In life at times, some things may seem just natural to be used joyfully. If no challenge as never been witnessed in these areas, we may take it as just normal and obvious to enjoy the privileges of nature.
However, in my country there has been a prolonged period of drought, and continuous seasons without enough rain, so both people and animals have suffered. People have walked long distances to search for water, and also have moved with their herds days and nights seeking for water and food. As days went on hoping for the rain to appear, and the dry spell touched everyone, people have turned to seeking God more and more.
I recall this moment when we had almost ran out of water. Our neighbour who has two little daughters walked to our house to see if we could help her with a little water. She met my daughter, who kindly poured her the little bit we had. After realizing what she did, when we badly needed water ourselves, I felt as if she shouldn’t have done that. A thought ran in me, what if it were you? Could you withhold and not share? I have always known, “Help others and you are helping yourself; help yourself and you will help others.”
I gave a sigh of relief, and felt this was emptying the vessel in order for more blessing to fill it. Truly God is faithful. Within a few hours there were water trucks in the estate bringing people water. People were allowed to fetch as much they needed without limit, and it was free and also clean water. Everyone was happy and thanking God. We indeed felt blessed. From then on it came to distribute water every two days.
Our leader Mary Baker Eddy Said “the right way wins the right of way, even the way of truth and love whereby all our debts are paid, mankind blessed and God glorified” My 232:6. The cry of our needs was met with love and in full abundance.
What can’t God do? Man is truly the “noblest idea” in God’s palace, keeping the spiritual light burning brightly. Mrs Eddy says, “We can have but one Mind, if that one is infinite.” SH 469 Limitless God must be above and beyond all limits. He can never be outlined nor placed within contours.
