"Precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little and there a little." Isaiah 28:10
In our estate there is a family that lives with their grandmother. Grandmother's major role is taking walks within the estate. She mostly walks with her great-grand-daughter of 3 years. Every time she meets someone she has such a broad smile that it entices every passerby to say 'Hey!’ She is known by most of the people, especially in the estate, as “the lovely Grandma.”
On her daily walk with the youngster she at times stands, pauses and rubs her back, maybe to release the tension. The youngster seeing that also struggles to reach the Grandma's back and rubs it softly and smilingly. Then they continue with their walk. At times as I watch them I admire the joyful company and say, "What a love!"
Almost the end of last year Grandma could not be seen on her usual walks. Everyone was concerned and so we went to seek her whereabouts. It was later revealed that she was taken ill and now she wasn’t able to walk. We all felt bad for our ‘estate Grandma.’
Every evening people met to join in prayers for our dear friend. Even struggling in her bed Grandma still had this unique thing, "the deep smile." After a few weeks of evening prayers, Grandma started reviving. Every one was happy.
An estate timetable was framed to help the family with all the caring. None who knew her was left out. It was a great unison of love. Every evening Grandma had to be removed from the wheel chair and taken for a little walk.
Within weeks it was a joy to see Grandma make few steps on her own. This reminds me what our leader said, "Beholding the infinite tasks of truth, we pause - wait on God. Then we push onward, until boundless thought walks enraptured and conception unconfined is winged to reach the divine glory.” Now our estate Grandma is back to her usual routine. She walks happily, expressing her gratitude, saying "God has done unto me great things!"
How good it is when we give ourselves wholly and irrevocably to the great work of establishing the truth. Our leader said that "Days of shade and shine may come and go, but we will live on and never drift apart." We are in love that is faithful, an ever-present help in trouble, which never deserts us. How sweet and lovely to realize this!
