Gardener Protected

I had taken a short walk into town, and then planned to listen to The Mother Church Thanksgiving service while eating lunch and before collecting my daughter from school. Well, the phone rang twice, and then the doorbell rang. By the time the doorbell rang, I was feeling annoyed as this had seemed to be the perfect window to listen to the Thanksgiving service. The gardener was at the door, as planned, and he had arrived to do some work. The weather was dry for the moment, so it did seem perfect to get on with things then.

I carried on listening to the service, starting it again for the 3rd time, and mentally digging in - wanting to accept no distractions. The angel thought came though, that this was human will, and that Mrs Eddy always supported each of the people who came to do work at her home, and oftentimes healing resulted. I realised I wasn't actually annoyed with the gardener, but with the distractions. I started to cherish the order and love he always brings to his work here, and carried on listening to the service.

The gardener took a lunch break, and I loaded my dishes into the dishwasher. All was well & normal in the back garden. I carried on listening to the service and soon there was a rapid knocking on the window. The gardener wanted to show me that one of the apple trees that had fallen over just then. He said he had never seen anything like this, where the tree was fine and upright one minute and totally uprooted the next! I mentioned to him that I was grateful it hadn't happened while he was working in that area, which was the next area he planned to be in. He replied that he hadn't thought of that, but was very relieved to have been so clear of it when it fell over.

It was a bit of a deep breath moment - realising how God so protects everyone, and the importance of acknowledging His presence always!
