"Precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little and there a little." Isaiah 28:10
Last year, a couple of weeks before association, we received a telephone call from our son whilst he was on a skiing holiday in the Alps. He was calling from a hospital bed having fallen on the ski slopes. Immediately I prayed to know that he was in the palm of God’s hand. I loved that song you shared with us a couple of years ago and found it reassuring to know that God’s child is always intact and safe in God’s care.
It seemed to be the right thing to go out to Switzerland and help him return home. We managed to book a flight the very next day and made our way to the hospital. We were then able to complete the necessary forms and make all the arrangements for coming home. I prayed to know that everything was under Love’s control and that we would be led each step of the way. Our son needed to be transported by ambulance to the airport but was able to fly with his friends back to Stanstead and then transported back to our home by ambulance. In the meantime we managed to book our flights back to arrive just after him. We learnt later that there was a traffic controllers’ strike which started just after our flight and that we would have been stranded at Geneva for another few days had we not taken the flight we did!
Once home there was a period of recuperation when I was able to share thoughts on Christian Science. He was keen to stop taking the drugs that he had been given and was soon free from medication. This was a precious time of caring and growing spiritually. I prayed to know that there was no fear in love and that what appears to be broken is merely a phase of mortal belief, part of the dream of life and being in matter and that matter’s conditions are illusions. The ideas from Association were so supportive and helped me feel the angels of Love’s presence guarding and guiding us.
I continued to pray and to share insights as the weeks went by and our son was able to overcome pain, lack of sleep, and anxiety. It was not long before he was able to start going back to work part time and we prayed together about some issues that had been troubling him for some time. This was so much more than a physical healing and I feel privileged to have been part of this spiritual growing and development.
Since that time our son has moved into his own flat, found his niche in his job at work and has found a lovely girlfriend.
I am so grateful for all that I am learning day by day and the opportunities to share and put into practice this wonderful science.
