"Precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little and there a little." Isaiah 28:10
Healing, in the scientific way which Jesus taught, together with the two commandments, Love God, and love your neighbour, are at the centre of all I have been discovering during this year, in many different ways: 1. Through the weekly Bible Lessons; 2. All our periodicals; 3. Church Alive e-mails from The Mother Church; 4. Daily Lifts; 5. Biographies of M.B.E.; 6 We knew M.B.E. - in particular learning more that 'Love is reflected in love.'
There has been progress in our church this year; we have become FCCS High Wycombe and Maidenhead A few new members have joined us, including a practitioner. One of our members, who has lived abroad for several years, is returning to this country quite soon. The Sunday School has had better attendance this year, but we have a welcome for more!
On the first Saturday of the month we have a discussion forum - it is open to all, but we have not had many visitors. Topics have included: 'Church Alive Summit UK, our prayer watch', 'Striving for peace in our world','Stability - the right concept for home/community/world.' 'Right endeavours - 2012 Olympics.' All members agree that it has helped us to learn how to discuss these and other topics with people we meet every day.
I am especially grateful for the Daily Lift which our lecturers are giving us. Some of the titles remain in consciousness and come to our aid when needed. One which I remember is 'Help is only a thought away' - it is such a simple way of turning our thinking when problems seem complicated.
Thank you for asking us to read 'We knew Mary Baker Eddy', it has taught me so much more about Mrs Eddy's life and what she accomplished - it is such an inspiration to us all.
