Be Still and Know That I Am God

With one family member overseas, another in a city that had had a terrorist attack the previous day, and my husband scheduled to be off-piste skiing in an area where a severe avalanche warning had been issued 6 hours earlier, I flew out of bed when the phone rang at 5.45 am.

It was a bank recording with an ID number. Really? The morning I had planned to have a lie in and it had been disturbed by an automated recording!

I became quiet as I realised I hadn't had this type of call before and the message came to text the information onto my husband. A short while later he replied saying that he had needed that information as one of our credit cards had been compromised at the end of a recent holiday and the card had now been stopped.

I began praying knowing that nothing could spoil a holiday. Man was and is innocent with everything needed supplied every moment. Therefore man could not steal to try to meet a need.

It came to me quite clearly that I simply could not accept the existence of error in any form- whether it presented itself as dishonesty or theft. Furthermore error has no life or intelligence to cause disruption- including disruption to my sleep!  If my role at 5.45 this morning was to relay a needed piece of information, I could not be penalised for doing so, nor did the incident have any power over me to claim that I had lost something too- in this case sleep.

With that I carried on with my day- with an earlier start than originally planned but with no sense of fatigue or tiredness.

It is wonderful to have these reminders of the Allness of God.
