I was sent a total of one hundred and ten books, a selection of Sentinels and cassette tapes. The books included among others concordances to Science and Health, concordances to other works of Mary Baker Eddy, five different versions of Bibles, Prose Works, two copies of Christian Healer, a Webster’s new word dictionary, copies of We Knew Mary Baker Eddy, a copy of The Reforming Power of the Scriptures, fifteen Church Manuals, three Miscellaneous Writings, copies of Sibyl Wilbur’s biography of MBE, a copy of MBE Centennial Appreciation, a copy of theological wordbook of old testament and other books.
These books were shared among friends in school who had just taken up the study of Christian Science. Some were sent to the newly created republic of South Sudan with the help of my friend from there. I took some to my rural home where my brothers and I have started a small library aiming at starting a society, and I kept some for my own reference and to give to my friends.
The books which my friend and I sent to S. Sudan included a copy of Christian Science Healer, two copies of Prose Works, two concordances one to Science and Health and the other to Prose Works, five copies of the Church Manual, a copy each for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd series of we knew Mary Baker Eddy, two Bibles and some Sentinels and four cassettes.
The following books went to the library at home: two copies of concordances, one to Science and Health and another to Prose Works; three copies of the Church Manual; a copy of MBE Christian Healer; a Bible; a copy of Christian Healing; a copy of Unity of Good; a copy of A Century of CS healing, a copy of 12yrs with MBE, and a copy of Peel’s biography of Mrs Eddy.
The books I kept for myself and those friends who visit me include The Reforming Power of the Scriptures, Webster’s new word Dictionary, Amplified Bible (I replaced this with one of the Bibles I had in my library), a copy of good, in my True Light and Life, and a copy by Peel.
Other books and copies of Sentinels were taken by my friends. I have tried to trace my record on how they were taken, but it seems that I misplaced it.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all those who enabled the books to get to Africa. They have been and are still of great help to those who are studying and new students of CS. From my side they have helped me answer many question about CS by giving out copies of books which answer questions posed to me.
