When I first started at my new school (over two years ago) I found that one particular student who I taught started coming to chat to me on a weekly basis. She spoke about all sorts of things she seemed to be dealing with (an eating disorder, self-harm etc) and while I didn't mention C.S by name, I was able to share lots of ideas with her.
At the start of June this year, she seemed to hit a rocky patch and sent me an email, which stated that she had been praying a lot recently and had received untold benefits. She concluded by asking me what I knew about prayer, well the flood gates opened!
To cut a long story short, this dear girl has been attending our Sunday School and Testimony meeting every week since then. She has read Science and Health from cover to cover several times and given some wonderful testimonies. She gave me a treatment a couple of weeks ago in the form of 20 quotations from S+H beautifully copied on to card which she suggested I kept in my desk at school for the seemingly 'frazzled moments'. Each one is so perfectly applicable.
Her zest for Science is so uplifting and she is much loved by everyone at church.
Last week she attended her first C.S lecture in Starbucks, given by our local church, and was so inspired by it.
This has all been such a wonderful unfoldment, and on a personal level very special. I can remember being at Uni and blushing to the roots of my hair if anybody asked me which church I went to, and now it seems the most natural thing in the world to share with all.
