Cat Healed

On a visit to my brothers house for dinner I was taken aback on seeing his cat in a very bad state. Most of her neck was gouged out. I winced at the pitiful sight and turned away. My sister-in-law lovingly spent every other hour cleansing the wound and renewing the messy bandages. They both assumed a fox had tried to attack her and held little hope for her survival. That's why they didn't call on veterinary assistance.

A couple of days later an image of the injured cat came to thought and I wondered how she was. All of a sudden it dawned on me that the cat was a spiritual idea and therefore nothing could touch her absolute perfection - not a fox, not anything. Science and Health tells us to "turn our gaze to the spiritual record of creation" (521:14) Not long after my sister-in-law had reason to phone me about something and, as an afterthought she said, "By the way, I don't know how but the cat is perfectly healed." With gratitude I knew that the Christ had done the work by a simple reversal of thought from matter to spirit, to the truth of being.

The key to this quick healing was that fear never managed to get a foothold on any of us.
