In talking over the years with my husband, who is not a Christian Scientist, I have been struck by how when past healings are recalled, he has downplayed that there ever was a problem. This has bothered me, as in each instance there certainly seems to have been an issue that needed to be addressed, and with prayer there has been resolution, peace and spiritual growth.
Yet, it dawned on me recently what was actually going on. The healings had been so complete that he couldn’t remember the problems! I was the one who was seeing it as a multi-stage process -- problem, prayer then resolution -- rather than seeing and knowing every aspect of our lives as constant permanent perfection.
With this recognition, I’m striving to constantly work out from perfection, and to view each past healing from the spiritual insights gained, rather than challenges that had been overcome.
