Recently I stepped onto a holiday coach and found myself with a person whose appearance I can only describe as grotesque - bright red hair, leather mini skirt, purple nails; obviously a man dressed as a woman. My first reaction was shock, then amusement, but thank goodness for Christian Science because immediately, I could see him as a pure and perfect child of God, created by God in His own image and likeness. We were placed together for meals and he told me his name was Catherine and that he had two daughters. I found it all very disturbing- was I talking to a man or a woman? But I kept him in mind all the time seeing him as a perfect idea of God.
Chatting, later in the holiday, somehow the subject of reincarnation came up. One lady said if there were such a thing she would like to come back as a cat
because a cat has a wonderful life and he said quietly to me, "I would like to come back as a woman". This to me was very sad because he must be one thing and feel like another in his mind.
I thank God and Mrs. Eddy for giving us Christian Science to guide us through the maze of things that our modern society throws at us.
