Difficult Relationship Healed

Recently a family member faced a very awkward and uncomfortable social situation. This family member also felt betrayed by a close friend, and it was causing much anxiety and even sleepless nights. I wanted to try humanly to make things better, but I had been taken into confidence and did not directly know the people involved, other than the family member.

I knew prayer was the answer – the only answer.

It took effort and discipline to silence the ‘What if” and “If only “ scenarios. As my thought quieted and I became more God centred, an audio chat I had heard recently, came to mind. The speaker mentioned a poem “Let the Angels Tell Them”, and I realised then that I could trust God’s angel thoughts to tell everyone involved, in a way they could understand, exactly what they needed to know and do.

I continued to ponder the idea of angels, and I thought of Mrs Eddy’s piece on Angels. ( Miscellaneous Writings p 306 – 307). As I repeated it silently to myself, the phrase “it is a spiritual idea that lights your path” almost stopped me in my tracks. That was it! Not only was there a clear path forward, but it was blindingly obvious, as it is lit by God and His angels. Any darkness near the path, couldn’t be seen, felt or known as the way is lit by God. I realised that the darkness were all the ‘What if and if only’ scenarios, that actually couldn’t exist if God is all. There was absolutely positively no way that there could be anything other than a well lit clear path for each person.

I felt at peace about the situation, and each time a suggestion came that I should feel otherwise, I dismissed it with an abiding conviction that God’s angels are right here, right now lighting the path.

The problem became a non-issue and dissolved in a totally unexpected way that worked out well for everyone involved- especially this family member.

I’m so grateful for the reminder that God’s angels are always with us, supplying each of us with the ideas that we need every moment.
