On page 412, lines 13-15, in SCIENCE AND HEALTH WITH KEY TO THE SCRIPTURES, Mrs. Eddy writes: “The power of Christian Science and divine Love is indeed adequate to unclasp the hold and to destroy disease, sin, and death.”
A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to prove this. I glanced at one of our cats and noticed that one of her eyes was exhibiting alarming symptoms. At first I was taken in, but almost immediately my thought was flooded with images of her patient, comforting, and loving behaviors to family members during the holidays, {I realized later that these were really expressions of Divine Love}.
In a few minutes, when I glanced in her direction, I saw that her eye was perfectly normal!
I wondered if I had imagined it all, but soon it hit me: wow! it was a demonstration of God's omnipotence and love, not merely an expression of material love.
I remained in awe of this healing the rest of the day, further concluding, that since God was omni-potent, and omni-present, there was not, could not, be a moment of imperfection. And so it had proved to be.
I continue to thank God for this expression of divine love and omnipotence, and for the experience of seeing the practicality and eternal promise of applied Christian Science.
