Handling Personality and False Responsibility

This year has been a year of "quiet growth."  I have learned so much and put it to use in so many ways, which have resulted in many healings, including from symptoms of flu, fear, eye problems, relationship problems, and false responsibility.

But two areas stand out to me:  the nothingness of personality (or personal sense) and the allness of God.  I am reading the amplified version of Mary Baker Eddy: Christian Healer.  I especially like the letters to her workers.  She says so many times to get personality out of healing.  I was thinking about that a lot.

Then I heard from a family member who was going to be involved in a big project.  They were not getting support from the immediate family and so I found myself believing that it must be my responsibility to step in and help out personally and financially - as if I was the only one who could.  How easily this can happen!  I became very agitated and felt the need to pray immediately, but I was having difficulty in getting still.  Then I remembered that a friend once told me that God gives us the treatment we need in our prayer.  So I settled right down.

Then I remembered Mary Baker Eddy saying that all sense of personality must be removed, so I thought of the allness of God and the nothingness of error, both without personality.  It was a simple treatment (which Mary Baker Eddy also advocates).  The tumult disappeared and has not come back.  I KNOW that Father is taking care of this individual, as He/She always has - and I've had so many proofs of that, some of them quite dramatic.
