Healing of a Wasp Sting

While stacking some pallets in the warehouse, I must have been stung by a wasp lodged inside one of them. My finger became inflamed and very sore.

I contacted a Christian Science practitioner for assistance with healing prayer. His first response was: “it never happened”. He pointed out to me that: “one of Divine Love's creatures cannot harm another of Divine Love’s creatures.” Hymn 236 states: “As stars in their courses never contend, As blossoms their hues in harmony blend.”

I continued to go to work keeping the finger clean and putting a plaster on the affected area. Nobody at work was aware of the difficulty.

That week's Bible lesson included the following statements from “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy:-

“Evil thoughts and aims reach no farther and do no more harm than one's belief permits.”(Page 234).

“All of God's creatures, moving in the harmony of Science are harmless, useful, indestructible. A realization of this grand verity was a source of strength to the ancient worthies.” (Page 514).

The practitioner pointed out that nothing had ever penetrated my spiritual being to cause harm. The wasp and me are both reflections of God for different purposes.

After a week the swelling began to subside, and I could report physical progress to the practitioner. I was grateful for the healing and the spiritual growth.
