Hole in the Heart Healed

I read recently of a man who felt the word “grateful” was over used and when giving testimonies, he tried to find another word instead.  However, after the man’s experience of a wonderful healing, he found that the only word to describe how he felt, was grateful.

I have so much to be grateful for this year.   In December 2008, my daughter gave birth to her little son Rylee, two months early and this was a very anxious time for us all.   He had to spend a month in hospital until everyone was certain that he was developing well.

Rylee’s parents are not Christian Scientists, although my daughter regularly attended Christian Science Sunday School as a child, and she was very happy for me to pray for Rylee.   I constantly affirmed that God had created Rylee perfect in His image, and nothing could prevent his normal growth and good health; it was his divine right.  He is a strong little chap, and did not need any oxygen or medication, just the loving care given by the nurses attending him, and his parents’ devotion by travelling to the hospital every day for a month.   However, on the day they went to take him home, to their distress they were told that a small hole in his heart had been discovered and he may need an operation.

When taking Rylee for regular checkups with their Doctor, his parents were advised constantly that Rylee would be behind in his development because he was premature.   Every time that I looked after Rylee, which was usually for a day each week, I talked to him out loud, telling him how perfect he was, that he was so loved by God and all of his family, and nothing could hinder his progress.   On his six monthly check up he was pronounced completely healthy, they could find nothing wrong with him, no hole in his little heart.

Rylee is now nearly fifteen months old, such a happy, funny, loving little chap, full of beans and certainly not behind in his growth as was predicted.

To me, this healing came about through a very simple prayer, but that was a constant and heartfelt knowingness of the power of Divine Love.
