"Precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little and there a little." Isaiah 28:10
Recently I found a new and helpful way to deal with fear. If I'm feeling fearful about something, rather than beating myself up for it or struggling as if it's MY problem, I remind myself, "This isn't personal. Most people would feel fear in these circumstances. Therefore I need to handle the fear for everyone, not just myself." Fear is an imposition which must be lifted off mankind. It's never personal to us. It just tries to appear that way, to make us feel alone with it. But we always have God with us, and if we pray with everyone's benefit in mind, it's easier to "meet every adverse circumstance as its master" (S&H 419)
