"Precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little and there a little." Isaiah 28:10
Earlier this year I was walking in a nearby park that is popular with dog owners. I stepped off the path onto the grass to give a young mother pushing her baby pram space for social distancing.
Next thing I knew I was lying on the ground! In moving onto the grass I had inadvertently stepped into a hole about eight inches deep, apparently dug out by dogs. My husband was with me and he was concerned. I assured him I was fine and asked him to give me a moment before I got up.
As I lay there quietly I had a very clear vision of the joy and boundless energy the dogs would have enjoyed while making such a hole. Surely joy and boundless energy couldn’t cause an accident or result in pain. I felt a great sense of that joy and energy and thanked God for this inspiration.
I got to my feet and while I was able to walk normally I noticed that one of my forearms and a knee were looking unsightly. I continued to dwell on the idea of boundless joy and energy being the fact, or truth, for those dogs, myself, and everyone else in the park.
By the time we reached the park exit just minutes later all signs of the incident were completely gone.
I am so grateful for Christian Science and how it is an “ever present help” always.
