"Precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little and there a little." Isaiah 28:10
Today I give this testimony with immense gratitude to God.
A couple of years ago my daughter was told she must leave her job immediately, due to false accusations. Talking with her I saw she had made some mistakes, but not what they had claimed. She was devastated, feeling unworthy, angry, and fearful for the future. Our country was going through a terrible economic depression, and jobs seemed scarce.
She rang a practitioner to pray with her. Together they turned to the promise in Isaiah 41:10, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
After a couple of months an opportunity came up for a job abroad which looked wonderful at first, so she packed everything away and closed her home, and with much economic sacrifice she moved to London. But when she arrived the job was not what she had been told. There was much more responsibility, and no help, and the bosses were very aggressive. She was working 6 days a week, 14 hours a day. Quite frankly it wasn't the right job for her skills.
After about 3 months she couldn't take it anymore, and we decided she should come home to Italy. She had very little money but we just made it. I prayed so earnestly to God to give us His direction. What had gone wrong? Where were we to go from here? God Loves His own children, and He guides the trembling footsteps of every child. No one can stray from His care. I prayed with Psalm 91, “For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways".
She came home and now we really dug into prayer. Thank God her apartment was not rented out, and she took it back. Within a month she found another job, but in this job my daughter saw much dishonesty. She made it known to her bosses, but they kept the dishonest person and let her go!
Now things were looking grim. How would all this look on her work record and her CV? Some friends suggested she should lie on her CV otherwise she would never find a job. But now everything had to be put on the right basis. She really dug in to the Science; she really made it her own, studying daily for many hours. It was a great time or pure prayer and being alone with God. She experienced a shower of humility, and let go of ego, arrogance, hardness of heart, personal intelligence, pride. She prayed for forgiveness for herself and all the people who seemed to have harmed her. Baptism was going on. She
realized she wanted to change. She became more humble, gentle, more grateful.
Then she was offered another job, but this time we stopped and prayed. Everyone told her to take it but through prayer she was led to turn it down. In due course more jobs came up, including one which looked like the job of her dreams - but it meant moving again and there were financial concerns. But we prayed for God's direction, and she was offered the job. They even paid for the flight and a hotel for the first month. Within that month a lady offered her a beautiful home. She was moving abroad for work for 18 months, so my daughter had this beautiful big home, and they even said she could bring her cat with her! She is also earning twice as much as in her last job.
God has restored to her all the years the locust has eaten! She works hard, but she is happy, satisfied, content, and immensely grateful, and has grown spiritually on account of the trials.
We are indeed the sons and daughters of God, our Father-Mother and provider. Our cup runneth over!
