"Precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little and there a little." Isaiah 28:10
“‘Thou shalt have no other gods before me.’ The first commandment is my favourite text.”
What a remarkable feeling from our Leader! She truly loved it, lived it, and imparted it.
We too can whole-heartedly bear witness to what truth is doing, despite the lie. Paul said, “We, being many, are one body in Christ.” (Romans 12:5) Whatever the different limbs of that body do, however unlike each other and at odds they seem to be, they are still governed by one Mind and one will. Great unity and love of our family and community makes us feel “...ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but citizens with the saints, and of the household of God.” Now here comes this experience.
These dear neighbours were really antagonistic, to an extent of being well know in the estate. They portrayed their hatred publicly to the extent of exchanging bitter words. Everyone knew them as unfriendly. Their sweet dear children aged 5-7 suffered the consequences. It was terrible for them, as they couldn’t avoid innocently eyeing the love in others.
But then a special time came. We had a lecture a month ago, and all these dear neighbours attended. The subject was, “Love blossoming into peace and unity.”
After the lecture they all shook hands and hugged each other in tears. They felt the compelling love, the unity that knows no bounds. Oh! Whatever God creates he cherishes, and what He cherishes He governs and controls. Not for a duration, but for eternity.
