"Precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little and there a little." Isaiah 28:10
I was shopping in a supermarket looking for a brand of crisps and noticed the shelf was empty of them. However, I looked up and saw a box of the same on the top shelf but needed assistance to get at them. Off I went and found an employee in the next aisle who came and said, " I don't know if I'll be able to reach because I'm short." But he managed to get at the box easily enough.
Interesting to note I had been mesmerised by "short man", because a moment later I found myself in the wine section where I noticed on bottle of wine reduced by half price. I knew of someone who particularly likes this variety of grape so thought I would get it as a gift, but it was beyond my reach at the very back of the top shelf. The thought came to wait for a tall man to come along.
There were two male customers either side of me. One of them asked, "Are you wanting that bottle?" I assured him I did. "Well, you'll have to find an assistant and he'll have to find something to stand on to get at it," said he..
A thought flashed : Well, that short chap won't be of any use!
The customer on the other side of me who was actually shorter than the assistant asked, "Shall I get it for you?" I gratefully accepted though doubted he'd be able to, but up he jumped and got hold of it with no problem.
It occurred to me there and then that there was no short man or tall man. There was only one man - God's man, perfect man. Neither tall or short applies to God. I had been outlining and judging on mortal appearance, wondering if one or the other was capable of the job, but learned yet again, that all things are possible to God. Nothing is out of HIS reach.
In Science and Health's Glossary under the heading "Wine", the first word says "Inspiration." That bottle of wine certainly did inspire me to watch my thought, and I thanked God for His assistance.
