No Hindrance !

Last year I broke my left foot, just a few weeks before Association.  It was funny how it had happened as I was ‘water skiing’ on a manual two-wheel scooter behind my sister who was pulling me along on her bicycle.  When we turned onto a narrow road and a car approached us, my sister went up onto the dropped kerb (after warning me) and I overshot it, doing a somersault over the scooter!

My marvellous sister, who is not a Christian Scientist, did not panic, but picked up my scooter, as I sat silently on the kerb praying.  Even though I could not put weight onto the foot, an angel thought came of how I could use the scooter to get home.  My sister offered to stay, but once again I was guided for ways to sort my cooking, some cleaning and keeping myself tidy.  I had no pain at all.  My sister was confident when I assured her that I would be fine as I had worked for her during two life threatening periods, and she has never forgotten those healings.

I continued working for myself and expecting good.  The manager of my retirement living complex was concerned.  Sitting quietly one morning, I asked my Father-Mother what I could do to reassure everyone and to show them I was taking care of myself.  The answer was ‘Contact the Christian Science Visiting Nurse Service.”  Of course!  A wonderful cheery nurse came and strapped up the foot, and made several visits all the while assuring me that all would be well.

On one of my sister’s visits, she asked if I would be able to get to my Association Meeting.  I assured her that I could listen in remotely, and cancel the room I had booked for the night before.  She promptly offered to take me to the hotel, where a fellow member was able to take me onwards to our special day.

However, time went by and there was no visible improvement.  Eventually, my scheme manager insisted I talk with a doctor’s office (registering with them was a condition of moving into the complex).  The doctor told me I was halfway through the healing process, and during the subsequent time, I was able to fully take care of myself, do my own shopping and even go on holiday!  At a required follow up appointment, I was told that the foot had ‘healed perfectly’.

At no time did I have any fear of ‘What if?” or doubt.  Soon I was driving again as well as yes- scooting!
