Overcoming Physical Problems

I'm very grateful for the healing of what seemed to be a stress-related problem. I woke up one Saturday morning with such a stiff and painful neck that I couldn't move my head at all. I couldn't even lift it an inch off the pillow. I prayed for myself all weekend, and my family prayed too and looked after me beautifully. At the end of Sunday I decided to call a practitioner, as I still could hardly move and I had to go to work the next day. With the practitioner's help, things improved quickly and I was able to go into work on the Monday and Tuesday to complete an important project. I took Wednesday off and spent it peacefully[1]รต praying, and on Thursday morning I woke up completely free. What helped me the most was the practitioner saying, "You are not interested in this." I affirmed to myself that indeed I was not interested in what this condition would be called or what might be causing it, and that enabled me to turn away from it and leave it behind without fear of a recurrence.

I've also had a couple of quick healings of colds during the year. Colds and coughs, which used to be a big thing to me, have dwindled away over the years as I have understood better that "... disease can carry its ill-effects no further than mortal mind maps out the way" (Science & Health page 176).
