Prayer for Friends Wanting Children

A dear friend of mine and his wife had been trying for a little one for several years, to no avail. They had had various tests, and his wife was taking some sort of fertility tablet, which seemed to have nasty side effects.  Eventually they found that they were expecting, but unfortunately lost the baby quite early on in the pregnancy. The next step seemed to be full blown IVF which would be very expensive and both of them were beginning to feel a little fed up with the whole experience. In addition, everyone around us appeared to be having babies!

I spoke with this friend on a basic level, about the need to relax and forget about the pressure. I commented that I felt he and his wife had so many wonderful nurturing qualities, that is was only right that these be fulfilled and meet a need.  We then went our separate ways for the Summer holidays, and he and his wife went to Greece for a few weeks.

Well, to cut a long story short, his wife went into labour on the day of our Association last year, and my beautiful goddaughter 'Hooly Louise' was born early the next morning!

In addition a lady who joined our teaching department from New Zealand as part of her overseas experience seemed to be facing a similar challenge. She and I soon became friends, and had many long discussions about church and spiritual matters.  My husband and I got to know her and her husband really well over the two years, and she came to a lecture at church and I gave her Science and Health.  I spoke about how true conception was so much more than a material event -- it was revelation rather than creation.

Just after the New Year, she whispered that they were expecting! They have gone back to New Zealand now, but she emailed me last week to say that they are to have a little boy in September and that all is well.

I just feel both these examples illustrate so completely that there really is no room for want or lack of any sort, and all is on the side of God.
