Safety From Storm and Terror Threat

I wanted to first express my appreciation for the services being available on the website. It’s hard to put into words, how lovely it was to listen on my iPhone to the recordings while traveling overseas earlier this month. It really made me feel like I was with my church family in spite of being several thousand miles away.

I’d like to share 2 experiences I had during this time. First, when I arrived and was driving to my destination, the motorway signs were flashing “Severe Weather Warnings”, due to a hurricane expected to literally follow my path over several hundred miles in the coming week! I knew that I was always in my right place, and was therefore protected. Nothing could prevent me from being in our right place at the right time- God’s time. Overnight, the forecast had changed, with the hurricane going out to sea.

The second experience happened afterwards. My internet coverage was variable, and at one point, it was about 36 hours between when I was able to check my email. When I logged on, I discovered an email from the Dean of my daughter’s university to all parents. On the Sunday evening, the FBI had issued an alert to all Pennsylvania universities and in particular ones near Philadelphia as a warning had been posted online by someone intending to terrorise and kill many students at a college near Philadelphia at 2 pm on the Monday.

While my daughter’s school is 2 hours from Philadelphia, the school was concerned about a copycat situation and warned students to be vigilant, advising that there would be many extra safety patrols about and encouraged the students to go about their normal business.

I love though how angel thoughts come and prepare us- even without us knowing the need ! When leaving my daughter early on the Sunday afternoon, I found myself singing ' On Angel's Wings' almost continuously for my 2 hour drive and then I woke at 4 am on the Monday morning with the 91 st Psalm foremost in thought. I continued to prayerfully ponder it until I got up several hours later.

I picked up the email from the Dean at 5 pm Monday, so had been totally unaware of the situation, though I had already had the spiritual ideas I needed. I was able to get in touch with my daughter, and learn that all was well and nothing had transpired at her school or any Pennsylvania school for which I was very grateful.

I am very grateful to have witnessed how ‘ He knows the angels that you need, and send them to your side, to comfort, guard and guide. “ (Hymn 9, v 3)
