"Precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little and there a little." Isaiah 28:10
Late one Saturday afternoon, one of my cats came into the kitchen with her eye sealed shut. She appeared to be troubled by it, and was trying hard to rub her eye with her paw to no avail.
My heart went out in pray to God. I think of this cat as my ‘love cat’, as many times she can be found on her back, paws spread wide and her tummy totally exposed. In this position she displays ‘total surrender’ and trust in everyone and everything around her. Each time I see her this way, I ask myself, am I living such total surrender and trust in God?
It was apparent that nothing could attach itself to such a loving expression of surrendering and trusting in God. I felt an absolute conviction that nothing could touch her being. She was free from every material belief as she was an idea of Love, God. I knew that it didn’t matter what was being presented to my material eyes. It simply wasn’t her.
A few moments later when I looked her direction, I saw that both eyes were perfectly normal, and a few moments later she went on her way out through the cat flap.
