What Cannot God Do?

'WHAT CANNOT GOD DO..." SH 135:20

The U.S. Postal Service has lofty ideals. Carved in the front of one of its post offices is: "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night..." can prevent the mail from getting through. It It is, in fact, a tall order. The U.S. Postal Service delivers 528 million pieces of mail daily, according to USPS.com. Sounds powerful, right? But there is a power much greater, and it was proved to me.

Early December, I finished drawing up some estate documents. It had taken me quite a while because I had to deal with different people in different states, requiring different signatures and notary and witness affidavits. I was finally ready to send the package off to another state for a final signature.

I was attempting this project as an act of love for my family. I wanted it to reflect the Godly qualities of order and love .

Since there were several pieces of private information and original signatures, I sent it guaranteed delivery with notification requested. I received a receipt and left.

I kept checking with the recipient, who said it had not come. I expected some delay because of the Christmas season, but one month later, the party still had not received the package and no one seemed to know where it was. The situation was fraught with "interlaced ambiguities." The notices left on the recipient's doorstep said to pick up the package, but when the P.O. was contacted, they said they didn't have it, yet the notices for pick up kept arriving. We tried tracing from this end. We were told it had been picked up. Clearly, it hadn't.

I had been praying, to know I could not be harmed by doing a loving thing for my family.

A thought came that this was just animal magnetism trying to say that God, good, is not supreme, attempting to hinder spiritual progress. I knew God was in charge. Realizing that, I felt relieved and happy. I prayed more, just knowing that "man cannot lose aught that is real." Another thought came to mind that maybe the copies in my possession would do. So I called an attorney, who verified that conclusion (for California). That was it. I put it out of my mind. I knew I was protected in every sense of the word.

The next day, walking to the Post Office on some other business, I ran into my mail carrier on the street. She indicated she had a certified package for me. It was indeed the errant documents. The first thing that came to mind was: "What cannot God Do?" I was indeed happy to get the docs but more happy to see divine Mind's power and goodness. I felt so loved. and cared for and watched over!

In the end, the system worked, reflecting the divine Principle, law. And even the human system adjusted to the truth that God is all.
