"Precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little and there a little." Isaiah 28:10
When we were asked to contribute fruitage for today’s Association I wondered what I could say. Christian Science had helped me so much in all sorts of areas of my life, but to date I had never experienced a really major healing, especially a physical one. You see, growing into CS has been a long process for me, and as a fairly recent joiner to the movement, I only attended Primary Class Instruction in 2013.
So when I was diagnosed with breast cancer about a year ago, I felt I did not yet have the spiritual muscle to rely only on Christian Science for treatment, and I chose to go the materia medica route whilst concurrently increasing and strengthening my focus on CS.
I was deeply grateful for the loving acceptance and unjudgmental support of the few branch members who knew about this, and I received only love, compassion and caring from all God’s beloved and highly competent NHS team who looked after me, with many demonstrations along the way. I absolutely knew I was under divine protection, encircled in the arms of Love and surrounded by legions of angels throughout the process, and that I could not truly be anything but whole and complete, no matter what the so-called physical evidence.
I had a final meeting with the surgeon before surgery, and imagine my joy to hear that the lump was down to the size of the point of a biro, and that the surgery would take only a few minutes (primarily to remove the metal pin that had been inserted earlier as in “X marks the spot”) and I would be left whole and complete, as I knew I could only ever have been.
I am beyond deeply grateful for this wonderful demonstration of Christian Science in action, to the extraordinary dedication of our founder Mary Baker Eddy, and for all the inspiration, learnings and support I have received from my Church, wonderful teacher and practitioner, and Christian Science family – the structure of Truth and Love in my life.
